Q.- Explain the story of the birth of lord Rama in Bala Kanda.
Ans : The story of the birth of lord Rama explained in below :-
1. King Dasharatha’s Worry : The Bala Kanda of Valmiki’s Ramayana begins with the story of King Dasharatha, the ruler of Ayodhya. He was a wise and noble king who ruled his people with love and justice. However, he was deeply sad because he had no children to continue his royal lineage. Despite having three queens — Kaushalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra — he had no son. He often prayed to the gods for a child.
2. The Advice of Sage Rishyasringa : One day, the royal priests and ministers advised Dasharatha to perform a sacred sacrifice called Putrakameshti Yajna, which could bless him with children. The great sage Rishyasringa was invited to conduct this holy sacrifice. Dasharatha agreed with joy and made all arrangements for the Yajna with full devotion and faith.
3. The Divine Offering from Agni : During the sacrifice, as the fire ceremony was performed, Lord Agni (the Fire God) appeared from the flames holding a golden pot filled with divine kheer (sweet pudding). He said to King Dasharatha, “This has been sent by Lord Vishnu. Distribute this sacred food among your queens, and you will be blessed with sons.” The king accepted it with great reverence.
4. Distribution of the Divine Kheer : King Dasharatha gave half of the kheer to Queen Kaushalya, one-fourth to Kaikeyi, and the remaining portion to Sumitra. After eating it, all the queens were blessed with divine light and soon conceived.
5. The Birth of Lord Rama and His Brothers : In due time, the queens gave birth to four sons. Kaushalya gave birth to Lord Rama, who was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu himself. Kaikeyi gave birth to Bharata, and Sumitra gave birth to Lakshmana and Shatrughna.
The entire city of Ayodhya was filled with joy, music, and celebrations. The gods showered flowers from heaven, and the earth rejoiced. King Dasharatha’s sorrow turned into happiness, and he felt blessed to have four virtuous sons who would bring glory to his kingdom.
